Out-Patient Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC): Mankato, MN (1,000 dollar sign on bonus)

We are searching for a full-time Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) for our Outpatient program in Mankato. http://www.houseofhopemn.com/employment

Duties include:

·         Interviews clients and related sources to identify the extent and effects of chemical dependency, in order to arrive at a treatment plan

·         Provides individual and group counseling, crisis intervention

·         Participate in team discussions related to appropriate treatment plans 

·         Utilizes resources of public and private agencies and community organizations to meet clients’ needs

·         Maintains ethical and professional standards of conduct

·         Serves as a resource for clients through knowledge of services and opportunities within the community.

·         Documents case file and ensures proper collection and documentation of information

Requirements:

·         Current Minnesota Alcohol and Drug Counselor license or T-ADC

·         Ability to pass a background screening

·         Education regarding alcohol and drug dependency

·         For individuals with a history of chemical dependency, must be free of chemical use for two years and provide evidence of

·         Hold a valid drivers’ license and have acceptable driving record

·         Must have basic computer skills

Preferred:

·         Any experience working with the chemical dependency population is preferred

·         Must be able to work with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds

Recovery Advocates- Both in Mankato and Fairmont

Duties include:

  • Completes and assists counselors with intake/admission procedures and orientation of new clients
  • Maintains current knowledge of clients and their activities

  • Monitors client-administered medications and documents accordingly

  • Encourages clients to achieve their goals by functioning as a positive role model

  • Monitors clients, makes house rounds, documents relevant information related to clients’ needs and activities

  • Serves as a resource for clients through knowledge of services and opportunities within the community. 

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or the equivalent
  • Ability to pass a background screening

  • Must be free of chemical use for one year and provide evidence of

  • Hold a valid drivers’ license and have acceptable driving record 

Preferred:

  • Classes/education or experience working in the social services or health care fields.  Any experience working with the chemical dependency population is preferred. 
  • Must be able to work with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
