This group is for patients that have struggled to address their Substance Use and Mental Health conditions as well as to improve their quality of life. The intensity and complexity of presenting issues, their current level of functionality, and their limited competencies reduce their capacity to benefit from highly intense, fast-paced, complicated, short-term levels of service. SYMMETRY patients benefit more from an extended care behavioral health treatment approach that addresses the severity of the presenting conditions with incremental treatment planning, expanded time to work through and embrace the changes necessary to establish, test, and practice strategies to increase functionality, competency, and quality of life all the while experiencing varying intensities of substance use complications, mental health struggles, and the somewhat intense synergy between conditions.

Due to the intensity of this service, as well as the nature of this population an extensive screening process is utilized to determine appropriate placement of this group. Patients must be referred into this group by either a Mental Health Professional, county case worker or substance use program.
Groups will be held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Group size will be limited to 8-10 participants. Patients will have a weekly individual session with the primary counselor and mental health professional. Staffing with the patient’s care team will be held on a monthly basis or as needed.
